1. The Pie Shop sells pies cut into 4 slices. Tom is buying pies for his kids and

their friends, and thinks these slices are too big for them. He plans to cut each slice in half,
and give each kid one of these half-slices. If he has 6 kids and they have a total of 8 friends,
how many whole pies should he buy, and how many extra slices should he buy?

Answer:

1 whole pie and 6 slices

Explanation:

Because you're dividing each slices into two, then you're multiplying the number of slices by 2 and you get 8 slices for one pie. So that feeds the 8 friends. Then you should just buy 6 extra slices for his kids.
