I know that, at least for me, there was a second question along with this one. It was "Choose EITHER Judaism OR Hinduism and describe its origin, major principles, and how it affected existing laws, social practices, or culture. Also describe whether and how the religion influenced other societies." The answer to this question is:
The origin of Judaism is that it began with Abraham, a prophet in the Old Testament who became famous as the Father of all nations as Yahweh blessed him with this gift for his faith. Here, Yahweh, revealed Himself to him and then there started the proclamation that there is only one God, Yahweh. It’s major principals are The Torah books and The Ten Commandments of Yahweh. It’s current social context is mainly the Ten Commandments. Some of these are “Thou shalt not kill, steal, covet, adultery and bear false witness”. These are now some of the fundamental laws in society today. Additionally, most people today have heard the saying “Love others as yourself”, which comes from Judaism.
