Answer:

Some periods of time are considered "classical" because they are times when a society makes huge advancements in science, art, philosophy, religion, etc. These “classical” times often show a strong influence over later generations because of the great advancements made. One example of this is when India and China were in a classical period in which they created Buddhism, Daoism, and Confucianism. These are big advancements in religion and philosophy. They are still around and admired today.

Step-by-step explanation:

I went off of the other answer and tweaked it a bit. I know it's late, but hopefully someone will get some use out of it. This shouldn't show up as plagarism either.

I know that, at least for me, there was a second question along with this one. It was "Choose EITHER Judaism OR Hinduism and describe its origin, major principles, and how it affected existing laws, social practices, or culture. Also describe whether and how the religion influenced other societies." The answer to this question is:

The origin of Judaism is that it began with Abraham, a prophet in the Old Testament who became famous as the Father of all nations as Yahweh blessed him with this gift for his faith. Here, Yahweh, revealed Himself to him and then there started the proclamation that there is only one God, Yahweh. It’s major principals are The Torah books and The Ten Commandments of Yahweh. It’s current social context is mainly the Ten Commandments. Some of these are “Thou shalt not kill, steal, covet, adultery and bear false witness”. These are now some of the fundamental laws in society today. Additionally, most people today have heard the saying “Love others as yourself”, which comes from Judaism.

Read the textbook, "World History, Our Human Story" page 90. In this book, there is a small passage that says,

"Some periods of civilization are considered "classical". These are times when a society makes extraordinary achievements in art, science, religion, philosophy, and politics. Classical ages often exert a strong influence over later generations.

The classical periods of the two great Asian civilizations of India and China gave rise to influential religions and philosophical systems- Buddhism, Confucianism, and Daoism. In India, advances in mathematics and astronomy furthered understanding of the way the world works. Both civilizations (India and China) produced artistic and literary works that served as models for hundreds of years and are still studied and admired today.

Please do not copy this word for word, since this is in a textbook that you should have looked over to help figure out the answer. Good luck to you :D
