What does workers compensation do?

Basically, the workers compensation act covers workers’ medical expenses due to disability if they were injured during work. This also may require the employee to undergo job retraining. Before this law in 1915, people severely disabled by injuries, suffered while at work. They needed to prove a “negligence”(failure of doing their job right.) claim against their employer to be entitled to any sort of compensation.

Answer:

Workers' compensation is a form of insurance providing wage replacement and medical benefits to employees injured in the course of employment in exchange for mandatory relinquishment of the employee's right to sue their employer for the tort of negligence.
