one half x plus one third y equals 1,


(x)/(2)+(y)/(3)=1


(3x+2y)/(6)=1


3x+2y = 6

Which is the equation of a line,

For x-intercept ,

y = 0,

3x + 2(0) = 6

3x = 6

⇒ x = 2,

Thus, the graph of line intercept the x-axis at (2, 0),

For y-intercept,

x = 0,

3(0) + 2y = 6

2y = 6

⇒ y = 3

Thus, the graph of line intercept the y-axis at ( 0, 3)

By joining these points we get the graph of the given line (shown below )
