x = -2, y = -3

Explanation:

Multiply eqn1 by the LCM of 1 and 6 i.e coefficients of x

We get:

6x - 54y = 150 (eqn1)

6x - 5y = 3 (eqn2)

- 49y = 147

y = 147

-49

y = -3

Substitute y in eqn2

6x - 5(-3) = 3

6x + 15 = 3

6x = -12

x = -2
