Sine is equal to the opposite side of the angle/the hypotenuse (the long diagonal side).

Cosine is equal to the adjacent side of the angle (the one attached to it)/the hypotenuse (the long diagonal side).

Tangent is equal to the opposite side of the angle/the adjacent side of the angle.

In this case, sin(A) would equal (a/b) and cos(C) would also equal (a/b), so they're equal.
