A package of tickets for 4 home games costs $180. What proportion can you write to find what a 12-game package costs if all individual tickets have the same price?

P.S; Please show an explanation so I can understand.

Answer:

Explanation:

set up the first ratio: 4/$180

next ratio is: 12/x

there is a direct relationship between the ratios

you can multiply the top of first ratio by "3" to get "12". Therefore, if you multiple the bottom "$180" by "3", you get "540"

4/$180=12/$540

or cross multiply:

4x = 480(12)

4x = 2,160

x=2,160/4

x=540
