A 120-foot-long rope is cut into 3 pieces. The first piece of rope is twice as long as the second piece of rope. The third piece of rope is three times as long as the second piece of rope. What is the length of the longest piece of rope?

60 feet

Explanation:

If the length of the smallest string is x, we know that the first string is equal to 2x and the third is equal to 3x, the sum of these 3 parts gives us 6x, that is, the total lenght of the string, therefore 6x = 120, then
x=(120)/(6), replacing x we have
3x=3*(120)/(6)=60, the length of the longest rope is 60 feet
