You have a cylinder and you want to double its volume. Should you double it’s radius or its height, or could you do either? why or why not?

Answer: I should its height. I cannot do either, because if I double the radius, the Volume will quadruplicate.

Step-by-step explanation: the volume of a cylinder is

V = Ab.h = πr².h

Double h

V₁ = πr².2h = 2πr².h = 2V

Double r

V₂ = π(2r)².h = π4r².h = 4πr².h = 4V
