To solve this equation, we have to set up an equation.

Since they are three consecutive numbers, x3 = x2 + 2, x2 = x + 2

x + (x + 2) + (x + 4) = 2040

3x + 6 = 2040
x + 2 = 680
x = 678

The three consecutive even numbers are 678, 680, 682

A quick way to find the median number of the integer list is to divide the sum by the N amount of consecutive integers.

Ex. 2040/3 = 680. Since there are only 3 numbers, we just subtract two and add two (in the case that it is even consecutive numbers) and get 678, 680, 682
