He had many achievements that prompted the development of the modern sciences. One of his best known achievements is the improvement of the telescope. Galileo heard of the invention of this device in Netherlands, and being very passionate about exploring the space, he made his own better version of the telescope. His telescope was able to magnify by 30 times, and even though it was far from perfect, he managed discover numerous things with it. One of the things he observed and discovered in the solar system were the moons of Jupiter, which he mapped and gave basic descriptions about them.
