Answer: x = 14.5

Explanation:

10(8+3)-(-9x - 4) = x - 5+ 3

Remember PEMDAS for order of operation

First parentheses

Multiply the outside value to the inside or you can add the inside value and then multiply

10(8+3) = 10(11) = 110

-(-9x - 4) = 9x + 4

110+9x+4 = x-5+3

Now we will add or subtract

110 + 4 = 114

114 + 9x

-5 + 3 = -2

x - 2

114+9x = x-2

Now we are going to isolate the x

114+9x = x-2

subtract 114 to both sides

9x = x-116

subtract x from both sides

8x = 116

divide by 8 on both sides

x = 14.5
