In your opinion does high school prepare students for the real world and how do you think they could solve that issue?

No, because high school teaches you how to find chemical bonds and how to solve giant equations when your never gonna see that again unless you are helping your child with school. High schools can fix this by continuing to teach English and history and adding different classes teaching about how to write bills and understand nowadays society.
