Use the substitution method

6(5-3)

Do 5-3 then multiply by 6

5-3=2

6(2)=12

Answer: 12

PEMDAS tells us that we need to do anything inside the parentheses first, so we will substitute 5 in for x and we will subtract 3.

6 (5 - 3)

6 × 2

12

Therefore, the answer would be 12.
