The length of a rectangle is 5cm more than its width and the area is 50cm^2. Find the length, width and perimeter.

area of a rectangle=A= L*w

the statement tell us:

L= 5+w

A = 50cm^2

so we have:

50 = (5+w)*w

50=5w+w^2

we have :

w^2 +5w-50=0

we apply the quadratic formula
