How to convert decimals 0.6 to fraction and show the work?

6/10 because there is only one number after the decimal.

6/10 - reduce

Divide by 2

6/2= 3

10/2= 5

Answer: 3/5

Using the place value chart, we can see that the decimal 0.6 is six tenths, so we can write 0.6 as the fraction 6 out of 10 or
(6)/(10).

Notice however that the fraction
(6)/(10) is not in lowest terms. So, we need to divide the numerator and the denominator by the greatest common factor of 6 and 10, which is 2.

Therefore, 0.6 can be written as the fraction
(3)/(5), which is in lowest terms.
