You have 200 bottles of Medicine. 99% contain Medicine A; the rest, Medicine B. How many bottles of Medicine A do you need to use/empty to get Medicine A to 98%?

Answer:

I need to empty 2 bottles to get Medicine A to 98% of the total bottles

Explanation:

The first step is to find out what 99% of 200 is. This will give us how many bottles of "Medicine A" are present.

99% of 200 is 198. This means that there are 198 bottles of Medicine A present.

The next step is to find out what 98% of 200 is. This will give us the number of bottles of "Medicine A " that will be left remaining.

98% of 200 is 196. There neede to be 196 bottles left after I have taken out and emptied a few bottles of Medicine A.

The last step is to subtract 196 from 198 bottles, to get the number of bottles that I need to empty.

This will be 198 - 196 = 2 bottles

I need to empty 2 bottles to get Medicine A to 98% of the total bottles
