find the volume of a cylinder with an elliptical base that has a major axis of 6 cm , a minor axis of 5cm, and an altitude of 12cm

Answer:

360π cm³

Explanation:

  • Area of an Ellipse = (π)•(Major Axis)•(Minor axis)
  • Volume of a Cylinder = (Base area)•(Height)

So:

Volume = [(π)(6 cm)(5 cm)]•(12 cm) = 360π cm³

Edit: That's (360)•(π), which can be plugged into a calculator and rounded if need be.
