slope = -2 = m

Point-Slope Form

y-y1 = m(x - x1)

(3,1)

x = 3 y = 1 m = -2

y-y1 = m(x - x1)

y-1 = -2(x - 3)

y-1 = -2x + 6

y = -2x + 7

or you can find b using

y = mx + b

1 = -2(3) + b

1 = -6 + b

7 = b

re-plug in just m & b

y = -2x + 7
