24 − 6 × 3 + 5^2 − 8

Next is the exponent.

24 − 6 × 3 + 5^2 − 8

24 − 6 × 3 + 25 − 8

Now we will do multiplication/division.

24 − 6 × 3 + 25 − 8

24 − 18 + 25 − 8

Lastly we'll do addition/subtraction.
