Absolute value always gives the positive result. Hence to remove the absolute value we will take both positive and negative:

|x+4|=2

x+4=2

Move the constant value to the R.H.S

x=2-4

x= -2

x+4 = -2

Move 4 to the R.H.S

x= -2 -4

x= -6

Therefore x = (-2, -6)....
