Explanation:

Hi there!

The best way to approach this problem is Soh Cah Toa.

In this case you can use sine. sine is opposite over hypotenuse.

so sin(17)= b/15

then to solve for b you multiply 15 on both sides to get 4.4

Answer:

Explanation:

This question is an application of the sine law

Equation

b/sin(B) = c / Sin(C)

Givens

b = ????

B = 17

c = 15

C = 140

Solution

Keep in mind that this may not work.

b/sin(17) = 15 / sin(140) Multiply both sides by sin(17)

b = 15*sin(17)/sin(140)

  • sin(17) = 0.2924
  • Sin(140) = 0.6428

b = 15*0.2924/0.6428

b = 6.8233
