How were immigrants treated when they first arrived in the United States in the 1800s and

early 1900s? What types of jobs did they get and how did they live? Give some examples. In
your opinion, has the treatment of immigrants changed or remained the same since the
180091900s? Why do you think this is the case? How has immigration affected American
culture, both in our early history and today?

Answer:

Immigrants were stereotyped and discriminated against, and many others suffered verbal and physical abuse because they were different. Immigrants jobs were carpentry, metal working, textile production, and iron-making.
