A disagreement between states of the United States concerning the rights of states vs. the authority of the national government led to the Civil War. State governments were forced by war into a subservient position. What might happen if national governments ceded their authority to a world government by international treaty?

Answer:

I think that if the national government ceded their authority then we would have more of an opportunity to consider peace around the world. By signing an international treaty all parties are in agreement, war will become void and everyone could trust their decisions to be met by those that were appointed the leaders.

Step-by-step explanation:

I'm not much for government, so I apologize if this is unhelpful. Simply my take on what would be a solution to the question.
