There is only one solution, which is: x = 7

Steps to solve:

Use the distributive property to multiply anything inside the parenthesis by 3.

3x - 3 x 2 =

3x - 6 = 22 - x

Move the variable on the right side to the left side and change the sign.

3x + x - 6 = 22

Move the constant on the left to the right and change its sign.

3x + x = 22 + 6

Gather like terms.

4x = 22 + 6

Add the numbers.

4x = 28

Divide both sides of the equation by 4.

x = 7
