Read the following situation.

You work in a small café and a meeting has been called to discuss menu changes. Most people have contributed their ideas. The discussion has already gone on for 15 of the scheduled 20 minutes.

Which of the following is not an example of effective group participation?

The group leader or timekeeper reminds everyone that only five minutes are left for discussion.

The group leader reminds attendees that differences of opinion are respected.

The group leader insists that everyone come to an agreement in the next five minutes.

The group leader asks those who have not participated whether they have anything to add to the discussion.

The group leader shouldn't insist that everyone should come to a single agreement. It is a discussion to contribute ideas, in which the group leader will decide which ideas are good and which ideas will be discarded. The group leader shouldn't pressure the discussion by saying "You guys better come to an agreement in about five minutes." It doesn't sound right.
