Well you start with PEMDAS

Parenthesis:
2x+5 and since there’s a five you times the 5 with the numbers in. So you’re left with 10x+25

So you know have

10x+25 = 4x-7
-25 -25
10x = 4x-32
-4x -4x
6x = -32
(Divide 6 both sides)
x = -5.33334

I know it doesn’t seem right but that’s the answer.

Multiply the bracket by 5

10x+25= 4x-7

10x-4x+25= 4x-4x-7

6x+25= -7

6x+25-25= -7-25

6x= -32

Divide by 6 for 6x and -32

6x/6= -32/6

x= -32/6

divide by 2 for -32/6

x= -16/3

Answer is -16/3 ( improper fraction) or -5 1/3 ( mixed number)
