To kill a mockingbird was published in 1961. Why do you think Harper lee felt the need to write it. Fifty-seven years later, why should we care about this novel

Harper Lee wrote To Kill a Mockingbird based on some events that actually happened to her growing up as a child. The book is still very relevant today because it allows us to look back at our history and recognize the institutional discrimination that had been built up generation from generation and its effects on everyday life.
