4(2x-3)=6x+2

8x-12=6x+2

8x-6x=2+12

x=7

  • 4 (2x - 3) = 6x + 2

Multiply 4 with 2x - 3

  • 8x - 12 = 6x + 2

Take 6x to LHS and make it negative. And take -12 to RHS and make it positive. This process is called transposition.

  • 8x - 6x = 2 + 12

Now subtract 6x from 8x, we get 2x. And on the RHS, it will be 14.

  • 2x = 14

Now divide both sides with 2.

  • 2x/2 = 14/2

2 and 2 gets cancelled out in LHS.

  • x = 7

Answer:

x = 7

Hope you could understand.
