Aorta : that supplies oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the rest of the body.

The aorta branches into: coronary arteries which supply cardiac tissue, an anterior branch leading to the head and arms and a posterior branch (dorsal aorta) leading to abdominal organs and legs.

Answer:

The aorta is the largest artery in the body. The aorta begins at the top of the left ventricle, the heart's muscular pumping chamber. The heart pumps blood from the left ventricle into the aorta through the aortic valve. Its small branches supply blood to the ribs and some chest structures.
