this is how you solve it
you need a common denominator for 1 1/2 and 2 3/4 so you can do 4
1 1/2 •2= 1 2/4
so 1 2/4 + 2 3/4 = 3 1/4 then you add 2 so 5 1/4
the answers would be - 5 1/4
