Odd integers can be written in as 2n-1, 2n+1, 2n+3 and so on. Basically, by writing 2n, you guarantee an even integer and when you add an odd integer to an even integer, you get an odd integer. Try using 2n-1 and 2n+1 as your consecutive odd integers and you will get the same solution.
