Explanation:

You can find the area of the rectangle then add the area of the two triangles, but that's just a square. (The equation can also be used, but since the lines are there, this is the method I'll use).

Area of rectangle: 8 * 10 = 80 in²

Area of the two triangles: 2 * 1/2 * 8 * 8 = 64 in²

Total: 80 + 64 = 144 in²
