5x - 2 + x = 9 + 3x + 10
Combine like terms
6x - 2 = 3x + 19
Subtract 3x from each side
3x - 2 = 19
Add 2 to each side
3x = 21
Divide each side by 3
x = 7

Answer:

x = 7

Explanation:

5x - 2 + x = 9 + 3x + 10

6x - 2 = 9 + 3x + 10

6x - 2 = 3x + 19

6x = 3x + 21

3x = 21

x = 7
