when you reflect a point over the x axis, the only value that changes is the y-axis, or the height of the point. because the original point is at a height of +6, flipping over the x-axis would make it -6

think of it this way:

reflecting across the x-axis creates symmetry, so you pretty much copy the the steps you would do to reach the original coordinate pair but reverse it

so since you go up 6 from the x axis in the original coordinate pair (-4,6), you would go down 6 when reflecting over the x-axis
