Answer:

Explanation:

left rectangle = 3*4 = 12 cm^2

Center square = 3*3 = 9 cm^2

Right Rectangle = 5*3 = 15 cm^2

Upper Triangle = 1/2 4*3 = 6 cm^2

Bottom Triangle= 1/2 4*3 = 6 cm^2

Total area = 48 cm^2

There is a note that you have to understand about the top triangle. You have to make the assumption that it is a right triangle. If you do not, the triangle is unsolvable. To find the missing leg, use the Pythagorean theorem.

c = 5

b = 4

a = ?

c^2 = b^2 + a^2

5^2 = 4^2 + a^2

25 = 16 + a^2

a^2 = 9

a = 3

So it is identical to the bottom triangle.

Answer:

Surface area of the given figure = 48 cm^2

Explanation:

Surface area is nothing area of all the sides.

We can find the area of each figure add them together.

There are two triangles with the same measures.

One rectangle with measure of 4 by 3.

Another rectangle with the measure of 5 by 3.

One square with the measure of 3.

Surface area = Area of two triangles + rectangle 1 + rectangle 2 + square

Formulas:

Area of the triangle = 1/2 base* height

Area of the rectangle = length * width

Area of the square = side x side

Applying the formula, we get

=2[1/2 (3*4)] + 4*3 + 5*3 + 3^2

= 12 + 12 + 15 + 9

Surface area of the given figure = 48 cm^2

Hope this will helpful.

Thank you.
