What is the equation in point slope form of the line that passes through the point

(−2, 4)
and has a slope of 5?

Drag and drop the appropriate number, symbol, or variable to each box.
Use point-slope form:

y − y1= m(x − x1)

Answer:

y - 4 = 5(x + 2)

Explanation:

The equation of a line in point- slope form is

y - b = m(x - a)

where m is the slope and (a, b) a point on the line

here m = 5 and (a, b) = (- 2, 4), hence

y- 4 = 5(x - (- 2) ), that is

y - 4 = 5(x + 2) ← in point- slope form
