So, if black and red squirrels eat the same things, red squirrels will have less food, since there'll be a new species feeding on their food sources. When this happens, both black and red squirrels will need food, and will start competing.

Since gray squirrels feed on different stuff, these wont be affected by the invasive species, and they won't find themselves in the need of competing.

In both photosynthesis and cellular respiration chemiosis is involved, since it's the movement of ions through a membrane, and if you think about it, this is something that has to occur in both processes - no differeces here.

Both processes produce ATP, but in differnt ways, of course. As we can see, no differences regarding ATP production.

In both processes, molecules are broken down into "usable parts", which means photosynthesis and celullar respiration are catabolic processes. Thus, there is no difference in this area.

Both processes create energy for it to be stored. And of course, this energy is used everntually. As we can tell, no difference here.

Now, do both processes occur at the same time? No. That isn't possible since they're are "opposites" in a certain way, so they cannot happen together. Photosynthesis occurs during the day, when sunlight is available and celullar respiration occurs at night when no photosynthesis is occurring.

As far as I know, only the plant moves, grows and survives only with radiant sun-energy. Also, the other organisms have other sources of energy that are not radiant.

B.

The wood doesn't move, so it doesn't have kinetic energy. It isn't connected to any current or circuit, so no electric energy. Any other physical energy cannot be applied to the piece of wood. The energy the wood contains is chemical energy, and, when it's burned, it releases heat (thermal energy).

A.

First of all, the few trees in deserts and savannahs do not shed leaves because they do not undergo harsh winters. Probably no winter (as in temperature-change). So, only trees in temerate forests can do so, and indeed, that's it.

Answer:

C.

First of all, the trees we're talking about here are pine-related trees (conifers). So, tropical grasslands don't have trees, only grass. Tropical rainforests do not have conifers, and the only option that resembles a forest formation of alomst exclusively conifers, is A, boreal forests.

Answer:

A.
