What is not true is that it is periodic. That would mean it repeats after a certain time.

Let's just start with the answer. The parent graph is NOT periodic. Graphing a Sine wave or any of the fundamental trig functions gives a period (or repeating function). A periodic function is included below.

The graph of the function does have three roots. They are +/-2 and - 5

0, - 20 is one of the points on the graph.

The problem is A. The parent function does not have to a polynomial. It could just be y = x^3. On the other hand it can be as this one is. I suppose the author of the question is accepting the ambiguity as true.
