The poetic device ALLITERATION is used in some phrases of Beowulf. An example of this device is the phrase "Deed of dead Kings".

Alliteration is a stylistic poetic device whose main characteristic is the repetition of the sounds of the words. In the example the first consonant of the first two words are the same.
