cot(theta) = 1/tan(theta) = 1/(-3/8)

_____

Comment on the answer

The parentheses are required. With them, the value is cot(theta) = -8/3. Without them, the value is cot(theta) = -1/24, which is not correct.

Even if the answer is typeset, it must be done in such a way as to make it clear what the numerator and denominator are:

\displaystyle(1)/(-(3)/(8))
