Edward Dubois was regarded as one of the first African-American elites and do to his contribution to the African-American community. he was one of the founding members of NAACP( National association for the advancement of colored people ) in 1909.

During his involvement with the NAACP Dubois advocated a policy of direct confrontation as a means to achieve equal treatment and rights by the colored people as same as that been given to their white folks in America.
