{ Answer }

Z = 11

{ Explanation }

Add 3 + 7:

3 + 7 = 10

Subtract 10 from both sides:

-2z + 10 - 10 = (-12) - 10

Simplify:

-2z = -22

Divide both sides by Z:

-2z/-2 = -22/-2

Simplify:

Z = 11

Answer:

z = 11

Explanation:

First, simplify. Combine like terms.

-2z + (3 + 7) = -12

-2z + 10 = -12

Isolate the variable, z. Note the equal sign, what you do to one side, you do to the other. Do the opposite of PEMDAS. Subtract 10 from both sides

-2z + 10 (-10) = -12 (-10)

-2z = -12 - 10

-2z = -22

Isolate the variable, z. Divide -2 from both sides

(-2z)/-2 = (-22)/-2

z = -22/ -2

z = 11

11 is your answer for z.
