Answer:

267200 C

Step-by-step explanation:

As we know that 1 mole of water contains 6.023 x 10^23 molecules

1 mole of water = 18 g of water

So, 18 g of water contains 6.023 x 10^23 molecules

Each molecule contains 10 protons

So, 18 g water contains = 6.0123 x 10^23 x 10 protons

5 g water contains = 6.023 x 10^24 x 5 / 18 protons

= 1.67 x 10^24 protons

1 proton has a positive charge of 1.6 x 10^-19 C

So, total positive charge on 5 g water = 1.6 x 10^-19 x 1.67 x 10^24 = 267200 C

Number of moles in 5 gm of water is given as

n = (5)/(18) = 0.28 moles

1 mole consist of Avagadro number of molecules of water

so total number of water molecules

N_w = 0.28 * 6.02 * 10^(23)

N_w = 1.67 * 10^(23)

now we know that each water molecule will have 10 number of proton in it

so total number of protons in all the molecules is given as

N_p = 10(1.67 * 10^(23)) = 1.67 * 10^24

now we know that total charge is given as

Q = Ne

so we will have

Q = (1.67 * 10^(24))(1.6 * 10^(-19))

Q = 2.68* 10^5 C

so above is the charge due to all water molecules
