At its highest​ point, the elevation of a city is 5734 ft above sea level. At its lowest​ point, the elevation of another city is 9 ft below sea level. Find the difference between these elevations.

Below the sea level always represents the elevation in negative direction or in negative value.Therefore to find the difference between these elevations we will add both.

Difference = Above the sea level - (- below the sea level)

= 5734 - (-9) = 5734 + 9 = 5743 ft.

So the difference is 5743 ft.
