The floor of a room is being covered with tile. An area three fourths

of the length and three fifths
of the width is covered. Find the fraction of the floor that has been covered.

Then area A of the room will be = length × width = L×W

Now an area of this room is to be covered by the tiles,of which Length (L') is =

(3)/(4)(L)((3)/(5)(W')


A'=(9)/(20)LW = (9)/(20)A

So 9/20th part of floor has been covered.
