What was the importance of religion in Puritan life?

Answer: Puritan life was governed greatly by their religious beliefs. Originally, the Puritans were English Protestants that wanted "purity" in the practices of the Church in order to have a greater reform and reject the association of the Church of England and the Roman Catholic church. They believed that all their beliefs should be based on the Bible.
