y = 8x + 5

Explanation:

The equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + b ( m is the slope and b the y- intercept )

here m = 8, hence

y = 8x + b ← is the partial equation

To find b substitute (6, 53) into the partial equation

53 = 48 + b ⇒ b = 53 - 48 = 5

y = 8x + 5 ← equation in slope- intercept form
