Find the perimeter of the triangle with vertices D(3, 4), E(8, 7), and F(5, 9). Do not round before calculating the perimeter. After calculating the perimeter, round your answer to the nearest tenth.

Answer:

14.6 to the nearest tenth.

Explanation:

Length of DE = √([ 7-4)^2 + (8-3(^2] = √(34)

Length of EF = √([ 9-7)^2 + (5-8)^2] = √(13)

Length of FD = √([ 9-4)^2 + (5-3)^2] = √(27)

So the perimeter = √(34) +√(13) + √(27)

= 14.63

= 14.6 to the nearest tenth.
